We are moving!  As of March 1st, Kato Music Studio's piano program will be moving to the Long Beach School of Music on 3840 Woodruff Avenue, Suite 109, in Long Beach, California. Thank you to all of the students, parents, and music teachers - Your participation and support are what make this exciting expansion possible!

In addition to piano lessons students now have the opportunity to sign up for guitar, bass, drum, voice, and violin lessons with other professional music teachers at the new Long Beach facility.

Kato Music Studio participates in Certificate of Merit evaluations in Long Beach Certificate of Merit Examinations - Certificate of Merit performance and theory exams will be held at the Music Department of the California State University of Long Beach. Find out more about Certificate of Merit.

Lisa Michiko Kato is the co-founder of the Long Beach School of Music and founder of Kato Music Studio. As an active member of the the Long Beach Branch of the Music Teachers Association of California (MTACLB), National Guild of Piano Teachers (NGPT), the International Association for Jazz Education (IAJE), and the Southwestern Youth Music Festival (SYMF), Kato Music Studio is able to offer piano students the ability to participate in a variety of high-caliber piano education programs, competitions and non-competitive evaluations.

Ms. Kato serves as Director of the piano program at Long Beach School of Music and South Bay School of Music in Redondo Beach, and as Branch Honors Recital Chairperson for the Long Beach Branch of the Music Teachers' Association of California.

Ms. Kato's piano students participate in annual Certificate of Merit and National Piano Guild evaluations. Intermediate piano students compete in the the Southern California Junior Bach Festival (SCJBF), Piano Sonata / Sonatina Festival, the Southwestern Youth Music Festival, and may apply to perform at the Music Teachers' Association of California Annual State Convention.
